A 'Tone Matched' preset for the 'Live' tones from the 'Where the Wild Things Are' concert by 'Steve Vai'
Updated for Q9.04
Updated for Q9.04
I abandoned using accurate models of his setup, which was not working. And went with what gave me the desired sonic results. The 'Vai' Purist' will not be amused....lol, but the 'tone' will hopefully speak for itself.
Created on an 'Axe-Fx ll - Mark 1' and an 'Ernie Ball Music Man' 'Axis' guitar with stock 'Humbucker' pickups through a 20-ft long cable.
Includes 1 free non-commercial user cab IR that can to be installed into the same user slot as the downloaded preset (if currently unused), or any slot that you wish,
Steve switches between the 'Bridge' and 'Neck' pickups throughout his songs. Try rolling back the 'Tone' knob (if you guitar has one) while on the 'Neck' pickup, for a smoother tone.
Cab #1 (X) uses the 'H75+SB (Moke)' IR....('User Cab' slot 'U:019')
Includes Two versions of the preset.
One Preset with 3 'External Controllers'........
External #1 - Main volume (Vol/Pan 1)
External #2 - Wah (Wah block 1 Control)...'Auto-engage' at 5% (heel down -off)
External #3 - Wammy ('X'=1 octave up, 'Y'=2 octaves up) (Pitch block 1 Control and Mix)...'Auto-Mix' (heel down -off) Filter block #2 is automatically removing excess highs as the 'Wammy' pedal's pitch is increased.
One of each Preset with (nec) added to the name with 'No External Controllers' for those without 'Expression' Pedals'.
Note: This preset is very dependent on 'External Controllers' to achieve the various tones. Filter block #2 had been removed in this version, as it is used in conjunction with the 'Wammy' which is not functional without an 'Expression' Pedal'.
Scene #1....Main Rhythm tone
Scene #2....Main Rhythm tone (adds a 'Stereo Chorus' effect)
Scene #3....Solo tone (adds more gain and delay, a mid boost and a 'Detune' effect that gets stronger as you play higher notes)
Scene #4....Same as #3 (adds a 'Stereo Chorus' effect)
Scenes #5 through #8 are not used.
For the '(nec)' version, Scenes #5 through #8 are copies of #1 through #4, with the addition of a 'Whammy' affect ('X'=1 octave up, 'Y'=2 octaves up).
